Penelope 'Pam' Duffy

Penelope Pamella Pam Duffy, 63, of Marshalltown passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Pam and her family. Pam Lovett was born on March 29, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa to Robert Alexander and Ruth Roxanne Edwards Elder Lovett. Pam graduated from Central High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1969. She went on to Eastern Iowa Community College in Davenport and graduated from the LPN program in 1971. Pam worked at Hilltop Nursing Home in Davenport as a Nurses Aide from 1969 until 1971. Pam then went on to Burlington Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse until 1986. Pam later went on to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines as a Registered Nurse for one year until 1987. After Methodist; Pam worked as a Registered Nurse for MMSC until 1994 and then most recently as a Registered Nurse at the Iowa Veterans Home from 1995 until 2009. Pam was very proud of her thirty eight years in the nursing field. She enjoyed the times spent with her family and their family vacations together. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, movie nights and the times with her dogs. Pam is survived by her husband David Duffy, brother Lawson Milo Rushton. Children: Kevin Matthew Krieger, Kathy Jean Krieger Oglesby, Adam Michael Krieger, Eric Duane Duffy and Ryan James Duffy. Ten grandchildren: Megan, Benjamin and Jackson Krieger; Jacob, Breanna and Justin Oglesby; Estrella and Marissa Duffy and Isrrael and Mariah Duffy. Two great grandchildren: Jaedin Oglesby and Khloe Windsor. Pam is preceded in death by her parents Robert Alexander and Ruth Roxanne Edwards Elder Lovett. Son: Michael David Duffy. Grandparents: Selma Alma Edwards and Leonard Ernest (Ernie) Edwards and aunts Dolly Thompson, Pearl Luther and Darlene Simons
