Phylis "Cookie" Kay Pantle

Phylis Kay Pantle, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at UnityPoint- Marshalltown.

Funeral services for Phylis will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be the evening before on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Phylis Kay Moore was born on November 19, 1946 in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Drew) Moore. Phylis graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1965. On January 13, 1973, she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Pantle in Marshalltown. She enjoyed baking, sewing, ceramics, gardening and was an avid shopper. Phylis liked making quilts and doing cross stitch. She was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren. She was patient, loving and family oriented. Phylis also enjoyed drinking her coffee and socializing with her friends. She will also be known for her nickname- “Cookie” for always having any type of cookie at her house, especially chocolate cookies for family and friends to enjoy. Phylis was known to not turn away any chocolates.

Phylis is survived by her children: Kim (Jeff) Sogge of Marshalltown, Kevin (Claudia) Pantle of Marshalltown and Charles Pantle of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Aidan, Ian and Meghan Pantle and Madison (Vince) LoCascio. She is also survived by her great-grandson: Bennett and her cousin: David (Alice) Meling of Marshalltown.

Phylis is preceded in death by her husband: Dick; siblings: Roy Moore and Roger (Ilene) Moore and her parents: Raymond and Mildred.
