Phyllis Jean Wyatt, 90, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Phyllis Radabaugh was born on December 19, 1933 in Alden, Iowa to Freeman and Lillian (Tordoff) Radabaugh. She was born at the family home and was the third child out of six. She was united in marriage to William Rainsbarger on February 10, 1951. From that marriage they had five children. She then married the love of her life, Dale Wyatt on October 10, 1968 in Urbana, Illinois. From that marriage they had two sons. Phyllis had previously worked as a waitress for Perkins and Country Kitchen in Marshalltown and sold Avon products. She was a member of the First Congregation Church.
Phyllis enjoyed making flower arrangements for weddings, had a love for all home interior decorations, traveling to Texas, Florida and Tennessee, and camping. She will be known for having a big heart and knew no stranger. Phyllis even had the honor of being a foster parent and had a love for her “fur babies” whether it was a schnauzer, pug or doberman.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Diana Eberhardt of Garwin, Charlie (Sue) Rainsbarger of Kellogg, Kathy (Aris) Sklavenitis of Hixon, Tennessee, Roger Rainsbarger of Beaman and Jay (Amy) Wyatt of LeGrand. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law: Charlotte Rainsbarger of Emporia, Kansas and eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband: Dale; children: Gene Wyatt and George Rainsbarger; parents: Freeman and Lillian and four sisters and one brother.
