Ramona Osgood

Ramona Osgood, 78, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the afternoon of Friday, July 22, 2022 in Eldora, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. Per Ramona’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will be held at Center School Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials in Ramona’s name may be directed to the family for a later designation. Ramona Rose Leach was born April 9, 1944, to parents Charles Leach and Lola Bennett (Spurgeon-Leach) in Laredo, Texas. From a young age, Ramona grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico until the age of 16 when she moved to Iowa and lived with her grandparents. She attended high school in Bloomfield, Iowa and graduated in 1962. On May 11, 1963, Ramona was united in marriage to the love of her life James “Jim” Osgood in Bloomfield, Iowa. Together they began a family of their own raising their four children in Marshalltown, Iowa. Ramona worked hard at home to keep her family happy and healthy. As her children grew, she took on various jobs outside of the home. She was a member of Tri-T and additionally very involved within Central Christian Church. In her free time, Ramona loved to sing in the church choir and play in the bell choir, took numerous mission trips, and helped to coordinate and serve luncheons for various church events. Additionally, she loved to travel around the country, take walks, slip into a good book, and spend time with her family. She loved her family and always tried to make it to every event that they were involved in. Ramona is survived by her children, Michelle (Alan) Gilmore, Jeff Osgood, Jamie (Travis) Winkowitsch, and Eric (Melissa) Osgood; her grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Gilmore, Breana (Nathan) Saltzman, Christine Osgood, Casey Edwards, Jorden Osgood, Ben Winkowitsch, Hannah Winkowitsch, Ian Osgood, and Avery Osgood; 6 great-grandchildren; her siblings Gene (Marsha) Bradley and Collene (AJ) Reeves; Alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; her infant son, Daniel Osgood; her mother, Lola Bennett; her father, Charles Leach; and her grandparents, Galen and Lena Spurgeon.
