Randall Earl Monk of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 28th, in his home at the age of 51. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 1st, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Randy and his family. Ph 641-844-1234. Randy was born in Marshalltown on April 17th, 1959. He was united in marriage to Tammy Blanchard (now of Lafayette, IN) in December of 1980. From their union came a son Ryan and daughter Amber. Randy worked for Packaging Corporation of America and the Times-Republican, both in Marshalltown. He loved to go fishing and spend time with his family and friends. He liked children- especially teasing them and had a great sense of humor. He never judged anyone and accepted them as who they were- many times opening his home to those who needed a place to stay when down on their luck. Randy is survived by: his son Ryan (Jessica) of Lafayette, IN and daughter Amber of Lafayette; four grandchildren- Lilyan, Kiana, Cameron and Lexxus; his parents Ronald Bud and Beverly Monk of Marshalltown; five brothers- Rodney (Carol) Monk of Marshalltown, Rocky (Lissa) Monk of Marshalltown, Rick (Shelly) Monk of State Center, Russell Rusty Monk of Marshalltown, and Roger (Sandy) Monk of Faribault, MN; two sisters- Linda (John) Diggins of Marshalltown and Cindy (Chuck) Bennett of Marshalltown as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews all of whom he loved very much. Randy was preceded in death by his twin granddaughters Vanessa Renee and Jasmine Marie and his grandparents.
