Randolph “Randy” Allen Braye of Marshalltown, Iowa, went to his heavenly home on November 25, 2017 at the age of 62. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The family would like everyone to honor Randy’s memory by wearing anything Iowa Hawkeye or black and gold to this celebration of his life. Randy was born on March 25, 1955 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Carl and Mary Lou (Braye) Wheeler. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1973 and continued his education in automotive repair at Southwestern Iowa Community College and graduated in 1975. After moving to Greenfield, Randy began working for Schildberg’s. In 1981, he moved back to Marshalltown and began working at Ken Wise, then onto Landon – Landon, Napa, and presently worked at Hoglund Bus Co., as parts coordinator. In 1983, Randy met the love of his life Penny Collins and they were married on June 29, 1985. Together they raised five children: Chris (Jill) Braye of Marshalltown, Kari (Brent) Sterling of Owatonna, MN, Sandy (Jeff) Bouie of Prattville, AL, Mike Braye of Marshalltown and Nick Braye of Marshalltown. Randy Enjoyed family time, rocketry, astronomy, classic cars, amateur fireworks, and flying model airplanes. He also enjoyed playing golf, star wars and of course the Hawkeyes. Left to cherish Randy’s memory are Penny, wife of 33 years; Chris (Jill) Braye, Kari (Brent) Sterling, Sandy (Jeff) Bouie, Mike Braye, Nick Braye. Grandchildren: Sommer, Aly, Saydee, Hayden Braye, Mike and Tristen Frank, Bailey Sterling, Ashley, Jaren, and Jamir Bouie; great granddaughter, Ava Dozier; brothers: Steve (Lisa) Wheeler, Carl (Deb) Wheeler, Scott (Jennifer) Wheeler, Jeff Wheeler, Casey Wheeler and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Mary Lou (Braye) Wheeler and In-laws: Mike and Rosie Collins.
