Ray Titcomb, 75, of Tama, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015, while working near Chelsea, Iowa. Funeral services for Ray will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Reformed Baptist Church in Tama, Iowa, with Pastor Paul Rendall and Brian Squires officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church where Rays family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ray and his family. Phone (641) 844-1234. Ray Neal Titcomb was born in Grinnell, Iowa on May 16, 1940; he was the son of Clyde and Edna (Wiley) Titcomb. Ray had attended Country School before moving to Grinnell and attended School in the Grinnell Community School District graduating with the class of 1958. Ray had worked at Wey Rauch Greenhouse in Grinnell and they sent him to Florist School in Colorado. On June 25, 1961, Ray was united in marriage to Pauline Polly Alston in Tama, Iowa. From this union three children were born: Brenda, Scot and Sheryl. After working for Wey Rouch Greenhouse he then worked at E.S. Homes in Toledo and became self-employed doing carpentry, painting and carpet cleaning. He was a member of Reformed Baptist Church in Tama, Iowa. Ray loved life and always enjoyed a good joke, enjoyed his travel thru the encyclopedias, woodworking as he loved to work with his hands and enjoyed helping others. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Brenda (A.B.) Jackson and Sheryl Titcomb all of Tama, Iowa; grandchildren, Allen B. Jackson, Clifton Jackson, Mario Buckley, LaVondra White, Jerry Jackson and Tiffany Jackson. Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Polly, one son, Scot Titcomb, brothers Truman and Allen and sister, Jean Scudder.
