Raymond Albert Tittle, 88, a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa, died there Wednesday, July 4, 2013. Following cremation, private family services will be held at a later date. There will not be a visitation. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ray and his family. Ray was born July 8, 1925, in Akron, Ohio, the son of George and Anna (Allog) Tittle. Their family lived in Greensburg, Ohio. Ray completed his schooling in Greensburg and went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Mildred (Tinker) Brumitt on September 25, 1948, Greensburg, Ohio. Throughout his lifetime Ray worked for the Hoover Company for over ten years, General Tire for over 19 years and retired from John Deere in 1982 with over ten years of service. During his retirement years Ray enjoyed woodworking and baking. Ray is survived by his wife Mildred (Tinker) Tittle of Charlotte, Iowa, his children: Richard Tittle of Monroe, North Carolina, Rick (Penny) Tittle of Indian Land, South Carolina, Randy (Mindy) Tittle of Galesburg, Illinois, Terry (Coletta) Tittle of North Canton, Ohio, Dean (Wendy Carter) Tittle of Charlotte, Iowa, his siblings: Georgianna Dawson of Bradenton, Florida, John Tittle of Greensburg, Ohio and Elizabeth Bridenthal of Akron, Ohio, his thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and his dear friend Leroy (Bev) Workinger of Greensburg, Ohio.Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Mary Anne Cherry, George Babe Tittle and Richard Tittle and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Tittle.
