Raymond Drennon

Raymond L. Drennon, 59, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Iowa Veterans Home. The family will be having a graveside service for Ray on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 839 and American Legion Post in the Marshalltown area. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ray and his family. Raymond L. Drennon was born on November 5, 1956, in Topeka, KS, the son of Delbert Paul Drennon Sr. and Marilyn (Poole) Reiser. Ray received his education from Marshalltown Community School District. Following school, Ray went on to honorably serve his country by enlisting with the United States Army. Due to medical reasons, Ray was medically discharged but still kept his passion with the military. He had a passion for playing cribbage and listening to old country music. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Elizabeth, Laura, Amy and Joey Bowers; one granddaughter; step-father: William Reiser, siblings: Karen (Richard) Minser of Marshalltown, George (Lydia) Drennon McFarland, Kansas, Delbert Paul Jr.(Gina) Drennon Richmond ,Virginia, Robin (Bill) Sailing of Marshalltown, Miriam Williams of Marshalltown, Carmen (James) Zednichek of Marshalltown, David (Ken) Bierbrodt-Reiser of Marshalltown and Kimberly (James) Raggio Des Moines. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Paul Drennon and Marilyn(Poole) Reiser, one brother, Charles and his grandparents.
