Raymond Hineman

Raymond Hineman, 89, of Garwin, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Premier Estates of Toledo, under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services for Raymond will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Johnson officiating.  Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services.  Memorial contributions may be directed in Raymond’s name to his family which will be later designated to the Iowa River Hospice Home.  For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234.   Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Raymond and his family. Raymond Hineman was born on November 4, 1928 on a farm near Van Cleave.  He later moved to a farm west of Haverhill.  Raymond was the son of Elias and Leona (Dannen) Hineman.  He was educated in the Van Cleave school district. On January 8, 1950 Raymond was united in marriage to Margene Thurston in Tama County.  From this union three daughters were born: Joan, Janette and Diane.  Raymond was a hardworking man dedicating his entire life to his dairy farm.  He did have a passion for water skiing, his Clydesdales and showing off his animals at all the fairs.  Left to cherish Raymond’s memory are his children, Joan (Patrick) Gallegos, Janette Tool and Diane (Joe) Mattingly; grandchildren, Adam (Kate) Mattingly, Suzann (Russell) Kuhns, Lucas Mattingly, Rebecca (Casey) Madison, Casey (Emily) Mattingly, Kyle (Devin) Mattingly and Darin (Kaitlin) Tool; 17 great-grandchildren; one sibling, Leon Hineman. He is preceded in death by his spouse of 49 years, Margene; parents, Elias and Leona Hineman; one brother and one sister.
