Raymond "Ron" Kaiser

Raymond Ronald “Barney” Kaiser, 89, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.


A joint burial for Ron and his wife, Janice will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. A family-led Celebration of Life for Ron will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at 201 E. Elm Street in Montour. Raymond “Ron” Ronald Kaiser was born on September 1, 1933 in Milton, Iowa. He was the son of Herman and Olive (Robertson) Kaiser. After high school, Ron served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1955 until 1957 in the 1st Infantry Division. Ron was united in marriage to Janice Younker on January 31, 1955 in Queen City, Missouri. Together, they made their home in the Garwin area. Ron had been self-employed as a long haul truck driver. He was a member of the Handyman Club of America and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, mechanical work, and was known as a prankster from time to time.


Ron is survived by his children: Martin (Val) Kaiser of Toledo and Kelly (Rose) Kaiser of Garwin. Grandchildren: Justin, Greg, Carey, Natalie, Nichole, Natosha, and Wyatt. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.


Ron is preceded in death by his wife: Janice; parents: Herman and Olive and brothers: Buddy, Charles, Leon, Craig and Carl.
