Raymond E. Bud Niederhauser, 81, of 3202 South 12th Street, Marshalltown, died Friday morning, April 27th, at his home while in the care of the Iowa River hospice. His death came peacefully at 8:05 a.m. with his loving family at his side. Memorial services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1st, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Gregg Davison officiating. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born on January 23rd, 1926, in Marshalltown, he was the son of John N. and Florence (Christy) Niederhauser. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and attended Des Moines Tech where he became an authorized AP Aviation Inspector. On February 1st, 1947, he was united in marriage to Mary Rose Rutledge at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. They also made Waterville, Minnesota their home. Mr. Niederhauser was employed as manager in the aviation business with his brothers most of his working career. The Niederhauser Field north of Marshalltown was named in September of 2005 where he had been manager for a number of years. Mr. Niederhauser was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Quiet Birdmen, Marshall Masonic Lodge AF & AM #108, Lions Club where he was tail twister, and enjoyed water skiing, snowmobiling, boating, card playing and dancing. He was a well-rounded gentleman who truly enjoyed life. He will be greatly missed by many including his loving wife of 60 years, Rose, three children: Nancy (Randy) Rhodes, Nickie (Mike) Moon and Don (Jennifer) Niederhauser, 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, step-father Ralph Wooster, brothers Glen, Bob, Harry and Ben Niederhauser and one in infancy and sister Gladyce Switzer.
