Services will now be on Monday, Feb 2 at 1:30 with visitation one hour prior*********** Raymond Butch Earl Parks, 71, of Garwin, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services for Butch will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service time at 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Raymond Parks was born on June 6, 1943 in Jackson Township, Iowa to Henry and Anice Cory Parks. Butch graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1961. On May 20, 2000; Butch was united in marriage to Linda Smith at Union Grove Lake. Butch was employed with Green Mountain Elevator as an electrician, Maulsby Electric and later retired in maintenance from Handy Industries in 2009. Butch loved to go fishing and walking in his free time. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 14 years; Linda. Children: Cindy (Keith) Slingluff of Garwin and Jody (Robert Kimbrough IV) Parks of Olathe, Kansas. Step son: Scott Smith of Des Moines. Grandchildren: Dillon, Megan, Devan, Payten, Royce, Abby, Ben, Abby, Joe, Danny and Klowie. Great grandson: Miles. Brother: Sam (Ann) Parks of Ohio and a sister in law Carol Parks of Garwin. Butch is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anice and a brother Merle Parks.
