Raymond Rickett

Raymond Lee (Cartwright) Rickett, 71, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at State Center Specialty Care under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice of Des Moines.  Memorial services for Raymond will take place on Monday, December 7 at 10:00 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6 at 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. All attendees are required to wear masks and practice all social distancing guidelines. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. After Wilbur’s passing, Patricia was married to Max Cartwright and together they raised Raymond and his siblings from a young age. After attending Marshalltown High School, Raymond honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Connie Thompson and together they raised their son, Adam in Marshalltown.  Raymond was a hard worker and retired from JBS after many years. He was a simple man, very loving and caring, with a great sense of humor.  Raymond loved spending time with friends and family. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and going to the races. Raymond is survived by his son, Adam Rickett; siblings: Debra (Bill) Webb, Jay (Kay) Cartwright and Tom Cartwright and nieces and nephews: Mike Zink, Eldon Zink, Thomas Neave, Betty Neave, Cindy Russell, Jeff Russell, Shelly Dannen, Aaron Dannen, Jennifer Thompson, Lindsay Thompson and Nikki Thompson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Rickett; his birth father, Wilbur Rickett; his parents: Max and Patricia Cartwright and sister-in-law, Brenda Neave.
