Rebecca "Becky" Elsberry

Rebecca “Becky” Elsberry, 79, of Marshalltown, Iowa, went to be in eternal life with her Lord Jesus on the evening of October 29, 2021 at the Iowa River Hospice Home surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. A family led service for Becky will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Marshalltown First Church of the Nazarene beginning at 10:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery following the services. Memorials in Becky’s name may be made to Iowa River Hospice Home or the Marshalltown First Church of the Nazarene. Rebecca JoAnn Dunham was born September 10, 1942 to parents Charles and Lela (Shiflett) Dunham in Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended school in Marshalltown graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1960. She attended courses at Olivet Nazarene College. On June 21, 1963, Becky was united in marriage to the love of her life Clair Elsberry at the Marshalltown First Church of the Nazarene. After they were married, Becky worked for many years at Marshalltown Manufacturing. They welcomed their daughter Kelly into the world and Becky became a homemaker for her family. In her later years she worked for Dunham-Fritz Chiropractic as their office manager over the years until she would eventually retire. She was a lifelong member of the Marshalltown First Church of the Nazarene and was faithfully involved in the activities. She taught kindergarten Sunday school classes for over 30 years and was involved with the Caravan program as a leader of the classes. She was a member of T.O.P.S. where she met a good number of friends over the years. In her free time, she was a major cat lover, she loved her family to all extents and would frequently check in on them, as well as be a prayer warrior for anyone who may be in need of prayers or being lifted up. Becky is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clair Elsberry; her daughter Kelly (Dennis) Smith; her grandchildren, Alan Smith, Emily (Michael) Daniels, William(Emily Scala) Smith, Matthew Smith and Natalie (Noah) Hass; her great-grandchildren Lillian, Rebekah, and Enoch Daniels and one on the way; her siblings Robert Dunham and Judy (Steve) Maxwell; alongside numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lela Dunham and her siblings Delores, Bill, Donna, Jerry, Ronald, and David.
