Rebecca Frisell Collins

Rebecca Sue Collins, 73, of Marshalltown, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Iowa River Hospice House. To honor her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, March 26th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Another Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10th at Vaughn’s Pub. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family for a later designation. Rebecca was born on September 24, 1947, in Bedford, IA, the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth Jean (Sharp) Frisell. She grew up in Marshalltown and graduated high school with the Class of 1965. She was a very bright, intelligent and energetic person. Rebecca had tended bar at Vaughn’s Pub and also worked in accounting for the Elmwood Country Club and bookkeeping at J & J Construction. During her career, she had also been employed at Swift & Company; worked in the office of Lennox Industries and Mid-Iowa Graphics. Her most recent employment was at Interface Sealing Solutions. When she wasn’t working, Rebecca enjoyed horseback riding, audio books, jigsaw puzzles and going to the casino with friends. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jason Collins; grandchildren: Nicole Collins, C.J. Collins-Weir and Xavier Collins; a sister, Charlotte Fontenot; several nieces and nephews; and four very special friends: Pam Wilkening, Mickie Paglia, Wava Kurth and Harold Meyer.In eternal life, Rebecca is reunited with her parents and two brothers, Harold and Bill Frisell.
