Regina Utz

Regina Utz, 70, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and formerly of Kalona, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of March 6, 2022 at the Iowa Veteran’s Home. Per Regina’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Regina’s name may be directed to PAWS and More Animal Shelter. Regina Lea Sprenkle was born January 31, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas to Joan (Sprenkle) Brignardello. She graduated from high school and later attended Cansius College in Buffalo, New York where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Regina was united in marriage to her husband David Utz in Palm Springs, California. She lived in Kalona, Iowa and worked in various hospital and nursing home care positions as a nurse. In her free time, she also volunteered for the PAWS and More Animal Shelter. Later on, Regina moved to Marshalltown to live at the Iowa Veteran’s Home, where she resided for seven years. Regina was an avid reader, had a love for cats, and enjoyed flowers and plants. She was well known for her strong, independent, and very family-oriented personality. Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children, William (Amy) Weaver and Lee (Wanda) Pfeifer; her grandchildren, Joshua (Vicky) Weaver, Zachary Weaver, Amanda (Josiah) Pfeifer and Brittney Pfeifer; and her nephew Scott Newton. She is preceded in death by her husband David; her mother and step-father Joan and Gino Brignardello; her grandson, Christopher; and sister Cindy Sprenkle.
