Reinhard Staerk

Reinhard "Reiny" Staerk, 59, of Dillon, passed away Tuesday evening, March 13, 2007, at his homewhile under the care of Iowa Hospice. Memorial services and a celebration of his life will held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Len Eberhart officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the hospitality room of the funeral home. There will be no visitation. For condolences please visit www.mitchellfh.com. He received his education in Windom, Minnesota, where he graduated in 1965. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Schulz on December 12, 1964 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was employed at various car dealerships as a mechanic, and then owned and operated R Staerk Automotive for several years. After moving to Marshalltown, he worked on his hobby farm and raised Arabian horseswith his wife. He participated in Sprint Car racing at several tracks throughout the midwest. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife, Cheryl of Dillon, three children: Richard Staerk ofWisconsin,Eugene (Jennifer) Staerk, of North Branch, Minnesota, and Steven (Candi) Staerk of Kellogg, Iowa; grandchildren: Jessie, Miranda, Brandon, Derrick,Ashlee, Hunter;and siblings: Monika (Richard) Hobson of Stacey, Minnesota, Karl (Mary) Staerk of Davenport, Iowa, Hannelore Staerk of Davenport, Iowa, Karin (Bruce) Jansen of Bluegrass, Iowa, Tom Staerk of Faribault, Minnesota, and Susan Mitchell of Davenport, Iowa. In death he has rejoined his parents, Willie and Irmgard Staerk.
