Rena Caroline Town

Rena Caroline Town, 93, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Following Renas wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no public services held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed in Renas name to her family. Rena Caroline Frericks was born on April 18, 1923, in Clarksville, Iowa, the daughter of Matt and Jennie (Wolters) Frericks. She went to school graduating in 8th grade and went on to barber college graduating in 1961. On July 23, 1961, Rena was united in marriage to Fair E. Town at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Rena had a passion for her career as a barber, as well as crafts and gardening. Rena is survived by several nieces and nephews including Wilbur Frericks who was Rena's caretaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Jennie; husband, Fair; sisters: Alice Druvenga, Grace Johnson and Anna Fleener; brothers: George Lindy and Leroy Frericks.
