(Angela) Renee Frederick, age 64, of Knoxville, a proud United States Veteran, passed away late Wednesday, December 15th, at the State Center Specialty Care with her sister, Roe, at her side. Ph. 641-844-1234.          Born on January 31st, 1957, she came into this world as the first Thursday baby born in that year at the new Marengo Hospital. She was the beautiful daughter of Theodore and Delores (Anderman) Frederick, Jr. She graduated from the Belle Plaine High School in 1975, and was known by the community for her basketball playing as a guard. She was quiet in the classroom but competitive on the court. Her passion for basketball was picked up by her sister, Roe. Soon after graduation, she enlisted in the United States Army to serve our country honorably. She was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, and was recognized by many contemporaries riding her motorcycle around base.          Renee enjoyed motorcycles and riding horses as well as walking, shopping and browsing in Knoxville, her dog Candy, watching westerns and listening to music. She was also her little brother’s protector. She had a special bond with Pete and days were full of riding bikes and horses and taking spare change to the peanut vending machine.          Renee along with older sister Roxanne would divide the bowl of peas and carrots because one liked peas and the other liked the carrots. They would discuss this in Renee’s dutch accent until both were happy in accepting their meal. Renee would always want to know what the name of the food was before she would eat it. None of this “just eat it” for Renee!          Renee had a special lifelong relation and appreciation of horses. Her sister Ramona was blessed with sharing that same passion. Soon Ramona was able to simply guide a horse by its mane and not with a bridle. Renee truly “rubbed off” on her siblings.          Left to cherish her memory are her mom, Delores, of Marshalltown; her siblings- Roxanne (Dan) Kennedy of Charles City, Ramona (Dean) Frein of Bakersfield, CA, Rochelle “Roe” (Sherm) Welker of Marshalltown and Theodore “Pete” (Lori) Frederick of Blairstown, IA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews she dearly treasured.          In death, Renee rejoined her father who passed away in June of 2004.
