Rev. Dr. Christopher J. Daniel

**UPDATED** Rev. Dr. Christopher J Daniel, a devoted servant of God, evangelist, and missionary, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2025, at the age of 95. A man of unwavering faith and a heart consumed with a passion for spreading the Gospel, Rev. Daniel dedicated his life to leading countless souls to Jesus Christ. His legacy of faith, love, and evangelism will continue to shine brightly through the lives he touched across the world.

Born in Sri Lanka, Rev. Daniel heard the call of God at a young age and committed his life to serving Christ. With an unshakable belief in the power of the Gospel to transform lives, he became a global evangelist, holding massive crusades that filled sports stadiums across Asia. These gatherings were marked by powerful messages of salvation, miraculous healings, and the unmistakable presence of the Holy Spirit. It was through these life-changing events that he became known as the “Billy Graham of Asia.”

Rev. Daniel preached with boldness and compassion, never wavering from his conviction that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. He carried this message to the ends of the earth, traveling tirelessly to nations near and far. Whether addressing tens of thousands in a packed stadium or sharing the Gospel with a single lost soul, he ministered with the same fervor and love. His deep faith and trust in God were evident in every sermon, every prayer, and every step of his journey.

Beyond the stage, Rev. Daniel was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a cherished grandfather. He led his family with the same Christ-centered devotion that he brought to his ministry. To his children and grandchildren, he was not only a spiritual guide but also a source of wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. His family was his greatest joy, and he took every opportunity to pour into their lives the truth of God’s Word.

A beloved friend to many, Rev. Daniel was known for his kindness, humility, and generous spirit. He encouraged and inspired all who crossed his path, always pointing them to a closer relationship with Christ. His impact was immeasurable, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

His work as a missionary extended beyond preaching—he established churches, trained future leaders, and helped build ministries that continue to thrive today in India and Sri Lanka. His vision was never about personal recognition but about expanding the Kingdom of God. He believed in equipping the next generation of believers to carry the Gospel forward, ensuring that his mission would continue long after his time on earth.

Rev. Dr. Christopher J Daniel leaves behind a legacy of faith, a family devoted to Christ, and a world forever changed by his obedience to God’s calling. He is survived by his loving 3 children and their families, many nephews and nieces and an army of believers who were blessed by his ministry.

Though he has departed from this earthly life, Rev. Daniel now rejoices in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served. His race is finished, his crown is won, and his voice, though no longer heard on earth, continues to echo through the countless lives transformed by his ministry.

Well done, good and faithful servant. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).

A celebration of his life and ministry will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at First Methodist Church of Marshalltown.
