Rex Callaway, 65, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. The family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Whitten Fire Hall at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb, Iowa. Rex Edward Callaway was born on March 3, 1948 at Deaconess Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa. Rex was the son of Wayne and Hoveta (Lyon) Callaway. He attended School in the Union Whitten Community School district graduating with the class of 1966. Rex served our country Honorable in the United States Marine Corp. In 1968 Rex was united in marriage to Linda Huston, they were the proud parents of 5 children, they later divorced. He had worked and retired from Fisher Controls after 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown and the Pine Lake Saddle Club. Rex always enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, watching sports and supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes; he had a great love for his family, especially his Grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory is his Fianc, Deb Stern. Children: Huston Callaway of Marietta, Georgia, Jordan(Lacey) Callaway of Nashville, Tennessee Bryce(Misty) Callaway of Nashville Tennessee and Micah (Joe) Loney of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Rexs grandchildren: Alana, Adelaide, Lincoln, Lindsley, Josie and Braden. Sister, Debra Callaway of Whitten, Iowa. Niece, Melissa Hoelscher of Charlotte, North Carolina. In death Rex rejoins his parents, Wayne and Hoveta, son, Rex Richard and his sister, Karen Callaway.
