Rex Sevcik

Rex Sevcik, 73, of Toledo, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services for Rex will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Public visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until services on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where his family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Rex and his family. Rex Sevcik was born on August 27, 1939, in Tama County, the son of William and Thelma (Flynn) Sevcik. He was raised and educated in the Toledo school district graduating from Toledo High School. Rex joined the Navy in March of 1957, to March of 1963, as he honorably served our country. After the Navy, he worked many years at Farmhand in the factory. Rex had a true passion for fishing, hunting and his love for animals especially his cat Bozo. Left to cherish his memory is his two daughters: Tara (Bryan) Stewart and Amy (Josh) Good; Grandchildren: Kaden and Kolten Good, Breanna, Devyn and Blake Stewart; Siblings: two sisters, Juanita (Duane) Freese and Jean Papesh; one brother: Tim Sevcik. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
