Rhonda L. Wheeler

Rhonda Wheeler, born to Earnest and Mary Ann Sumpter in Hutchinson, Kansas, on 06/03/57, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life defined by loyalty, warmth, and a deep devotion to those she loved.

She graduated from Drake University and spent many dedicated years working at Daniels Filter Service, where she built lasting friendships and made a meaningful impact through her hard work and commitment.

Rhonda married the love of her life, Roger Wheeler, in April 2006. Together, they shared a heartfelt passion for large‑breed dogs. Their beloved dog, Mufasa, was especially precious to them and became an important part of their lives through cart‑pulling shows and rally, where Rhonda and Mufasa proudly earned numerous ribbons. Her other cherished dogs—Brady Marie and Regal—brought her constant joy, companionship, and unconditional love.

Music was a special comfort to Rhonda, and Adam Lambert was her favorite artist, whose voice and artistry brought her joy throughout her life.

She treasured spending time boating in Dubuque, traveling to the ocean, and visiting Estes Park, Colorado—places that filled her with peace and happiness. Her most cherished tradition was Christmas Eve, when she brought her family together each year to enjoy Dom Pérignon and homemade chili—a celebration she began when her children were young and lovingly passed down through the generations.

Rhonda will be remembered as passionate, caring, loyal, protective, and deeply loving. She was an extraordinary mother to her daughters, Chantel Lynch and Shala Wyant, standing firmly by her family and protecting them with her whole heart.

She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Cole Lynch and Jase Lynch, both of whom she adored.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Roger Wheeler; her mother, Mary Ann Sumpter; her brother, Ron Sumpter; her daughters, Chantel (Shane) Lynch and Shala (Pixie) Wyant; and her grandchildren, Jase Lynch and Cole Lynch. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Brittany Stout and Tyson Wheeler, and their children Jamie, Macy, Riley, Tinley, and Maddox.

She is preceded in death by her father, Earnest Sumpter.

Rhonda’s loyalty, strength, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed and eternally treasured.

In honor of her wishes, no funeral service will be held.
