Richard (Rick) Allton Jr, 62, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Kansas, passed away on Saturday May 5, 2012 at home. There will be no local services. Phone 641-844-1234.Richard Merrill Allton Jr was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 6, 1949. He was the son of Richard Merrill Allton Sr and Hellen Annetta (Pollard) Allton. He attended school at Lyons High School in Lyons, Kansas and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He also received a degree in History and Political Science from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Richard served his country honorably in the US Army from 1969-1970. He was very passionate about music and was a professional musician.Left to cherish his memory are his children Richard James Jim(Valerie) Allton from Kansas and Angela (Kevin) Harper from Kansas, sister: Marta Allton from Grand Junction Colorado, and grandchildren Ryan Velez, Dylan Marks, Kevin Scott Harper and Cody Boger. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Richard Sr and Hellen.
