Richard Coppock

Richard Coppock, 87, of Gilman, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Services for Richard will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home. Richard Coppock was born on July 25, 1938 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Frank and Leona (Vieth) Coppock. In 1985, Richard was united in marriage to Cathy Ihde. Richard farmed and had worked at Fisher Governor and Progress Industries in Newton. He enjoyed his time farming and was found of his cattle. Richard also liked working on old Jeep’s, going on road trips to Missouri to see family, and was very proud of his German heritage.

Richard is survived by his wife of forty years, Cathy; children: Randy (Tina) Coppock of rural Marshalltown, Christina Coppock of Marshalltown, Alan (Lisa) Coppock of rural Marshalltown, Lori Lundberg of Grinnell, Theo (David) Filanowicz of Johnston and Jacob (Carrie) Naumann of Des Moines. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jocelin, Rachelle, Adam, Amy, Allison, Grant, Margaret, John, Emma, Ellie, Audrey and Carter along with his “brother”: Ron Coppock of Kansas.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Leona.
