Richard “Dick” L. Watts Sr., 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home. The family of Dick wanted to express their sincere gratitude toward the wonderful staff at the Hospice Home.  Public visitation for Dick will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00 p.m..  Rev. Dr. Kim Wilson will be officiating the Celebration of Life for Dick.  The family would greatly appreciate for the public to be in their casual attire, because that’s what Dick would have wanted.  Memorial contributions may be directed in Dick’s name to his family which will be later designated to the Iowa River Hospice Home.  For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641-844-1234).  Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Dick and his family. Richard L. Watts was born on October 31, 1937 in Melbourne, Iowa the son of Lyle and Florence (Edwards) Watts.  He was raised and educated in the Melbourne School District where he graduated from.  Following high school, Dick went on college in Kansas City, MO.  He was united in marriage to Peggy Neuman in Marshalltown, IA.  Dick was not afraid of hard work; he spent most of his career as a Mechanic and owned his own business Central Gas & Diesel for some time.  He had a passion for dirt track racing, tooling leathering, bowling, working, watching western movies, NASCAR and football.  His biggest passion was his family and friends.  Left to cherish his memory are his children: Patti (Jim) Fletcher, Rick (Susanne) Watts, Teena Watts-Bagnall, Tami Watts and Rich (Sara) Watts; grandchildren: Ben, Shannon, Blair,, Colton, Daly, Amanda, Tyler, Clayton, Talon and Kayden; several great-grandchildren; siblings: Wayne (Mary) Watts, Larry Watts, Deborah Watts and Dixie Watts. He is preceded in death by his wife: Peggy; parents: Lyle and Florence and one sister: Mary Ann.
