Richard Dolan Jr., 54, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by his family. Services for Richard will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services. Richard James Dolan Jr. was born November 8, 1967, to parents Richard Sr. and Shirley (Brogan) Dolan in Queens, New York. Richard attended school within Queens and later graduated from high school in 1985. He stayed in New York for a number of years then moved to California and began a family. In 1994 Richard moved to Marshalltown, Iowa with his family and he worked for a number of years as a maintenance worker/mechanic for JBS in Marshalltown. In his free time, Richard enjoyed taking trips to Meskwaki in Tama, Iowa, watching sports, especially cheering on the New York Yankees and going fishing. He loved working on various projects that he was able to get his hands on, including working on cars. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and going to the races. Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his children, Colleen Dolan, Kathleen Dolan, and Richard James (Amanda) Dolan III; his grandchildren Lylie Alday, Dalila Jurado, Journey Markwell, Maverick Markwell, Ryder Markwell, Willow Markwell. Jillisa Collazo, Riley Dolan. Royalty Dolan, and Loyalty Dolan; his nephew Marc Dolan and cousin Jessica Brantman. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Dolan Sr. and Shirley Brogan; his siblings, Clare Dolan and Patrick Dolan; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
