Richard Harmon

Richard Douglas Harmon, age 70, formally of Waterloo and Des Moines, passed away peacefully on October, 24, 2023 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, November 1 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Richard was born on May 22, 1953 in Los Angeles, California. He was the son of Paul Elias Harmon and Daisey (Clay) Harmon. After graduation, Richard proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. Following his military service, Richard became a hobby mechanic until his retirement. He also enjoyed fixing and riding motorcycles, fishing, various outdoor activities, spending time with family and joking around.

Richard is survived by his two daughters: Jessica Harmon of Des Moines and Shawna Presnall of Bondurant and his grandchildren: Callista, Hailey, Kobe, Leah, Korbyn, Owen, and Delilah.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
