Richard Hildebrand

Richard Hildebrand of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in the comfort of his own home. Richard Hildebrand was born on May 1, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Cf and Toni Hildebrand.  He was educated in both Waterloo and Marshalltown.  Richard honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Army.   Richard met his sweet heart Karen Boyd fourteen years ago at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.  The couple had an amazing chemistry and were just happy to be in one another’s presence.  When Richard was living in Waterloo, Iowa, he worked at John Deere and that was prior to the Army.  He also owned his own locksmith business in Des Moines, Iowa and worked at Swifts.  He had a passion for stock car racing, being a mechanic, boating and fishing with Karen, and Richard was also an avid golfer and cribbage player. He is survived by his fiancé and sweetheart: Karen Boyd; daughter: Melissa Bieri; grandchildren: Caleb and Abigail Steele. He is preceded in death by his parents: Cf and Toni Hilderbrand; son: Richard “Rich” M. Hildebrand; twin brother: Robert “Bob” Hildebrand and older brother: Jim Hildebrand.
