Richard Kutzner

Richard Rick Kutzner, 61, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Rick and his family. Ph. 641-844-1234. Rick was born July 5, 1951, to Ernest and Joyce (Bleakley) Kutzner. Rick was a lifelong resident of Marshalltown and graduated from high school in 1969 then attended community college for 2 years. On August 14, 1982 he married the love of his life Deni Fiscus in Marshalltown. Rick worked with the Marshalltown School District in Custodial Services and Transportation for 20 years. He enjoyed all sports whether it be the Vikings, Twins or his beloved Hawkeyes. Rick played basketball and also coached a girls softball team. Rick loved to play cards, and especially cribbage and also collected coins. He was a very likable guy with a great sense of humor and loved the time he spent with his family and grandchildren and the 4th of July birthday celebrations with his family in Clear Lake. He will be missed by many. Rick is survived by his wife of 30 years Deni of Marshalltown, daughter Megan Kutzner of Marshalltown, brother Ronald Kutzner of Marshalltown, grandchildren Julian, Sara and Jahda and good friend David Leach. Rick is preceded in death by both of his parents and grandparents.
