Richard Miller

Richard E. Miller, age 67, of Boone, passed away Monday, September 7th, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.           Following cremation rites, a celebration of his life will be announced by family in Boone. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on May 8th, 1953, in Boone, he was the son of Harold Martin and Darlene (Ware) Miller. He graduated from the Boone High School.           On August 16th, 1974, at the Open Bible Church in Boone, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Christine Stumbo. They made their home in Boone all of their married lives where he started his working career at Boone Redi-Mix and later Hopkins Trucking until retirement. He and Christine were former members of the Moose Lodge in Boone.           It was a good day if he could take his Harley out (before his ailment) or tinker around in the garage….it was a great day if his grandchildren or great-grandchildren were there to help!Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tracy (Pedro) Castaneda of Boone and Teresa (Dan Hofer) Struchen of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Leslie (Michael) Chothen, Trista Simpson, Scott Simpson, and Cindy (Miguel) Silvestre; great-grandchildren, Serenity and Jasmine Guzman, Eric Chothen, and Ariana, Andres, and Analiah Silvestre; his mother Darlene of Ogden; brothers Orville (Nancy) Miller of Ogden, Ron Miller of Newton, half-brother Bobby Martin and half-sister Mary Jo Brown as well as many other family and friends. In death, Richard rejoined his bride who just passed in July of this year, his father, and brother, Charlie.
