Richard 'Dick' Pantle

Richard Dick Murray Pantle, 73, of Marshalltown passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home. Memorial visitation for Dick will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be made to the family. Dick Pantle was born on February 25, 1942 in Murray, Utah to Walter and Evelyn Wombaker Pantle. He was educated in Davis County, Utah. Dick served his country honorably in the United States Army for 3 years. On January 13, 1973, Dick was united in marriage to Phylis Moore in Marshalltown. Dick retired from Lennox Industries after 36 years of service in 2004 as a welder as well as maintenance and quality control. Dick enjoyed reading westerns, watching television, bowling, playing cards, motorcycles, fishing, and an avid rock collector. He also was a great story teller regarding life experiences but above all else he truly cherished the family dinners and the time he spent with his grandchildren. Dick is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Phylis. Children: Kevin (Claudia) Pantle of Marshalltown, Charles Pantle of Marshalltown and Kim (Jeff) Sogge of Marshalltown. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aidan, Ian and Meghan Pantle and Madison Sogge, brother Doug Pantle of New Haven, Utah and brother in law Roy Moore of Marshalltown. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Evelyn, his siblings and mother and father in law Raymond and Mildred.
