Richard Reutzel

Richard P. Reutzel, 75, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, February 3rd, at the Villa del Sol. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7th, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown with Fr. Jim Miller officiating. He will be laid to rest in Swea City on Friday. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Richard and his family. Ph 641-844-1234. Born on October 9th, 1932, in Swea City, he was the son of Henry John and Anna (Mathias) Reutzel. He graduated from the Seneca Schools. On October 21st, 1953, he was united in marriage to Beverly Grant, in Fairmont, MN. They made their home in Marshalltown, Northwood, Iowa and Truman, MN. And later divorced. Richard was employed by the City of Marshalltown Water Dept. and Fareway Meat Dept. He enjoyed working, handyman activities, mowing lawns, fishing and his family. Left to celebrate his life are his children: David (Janet) Reutzel, Daniel (Cynthia) Reutzel and Darci (Sue Butler) Reutzel, grandchildren: Jennifer, Joshua, Jessica, Ryan and Ashley, his siblings Ervin, Robert, Harvey and Darrell Reutzel, Lorraine Szuberski and Darlene Singer, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents.
