Richard L. Snider, 75, of Green Mountain, died Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Grandview Heights Nursing and Rehab Center. Private family funeral services will be held at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, per Bud's request. Private family burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Richard Lee Snider was born on November 5, 1934, in Marshalltown. He was the son of Elmer and Inga (Rierson) Snider. After graduating from high school, Richard served our country honorably in the United States Air Force. On March 22, 1957, Richard married Delores Miller in Marshalltown. The couple lived in the Marshalltown area for the majority of their marriage.Richard was employed at Lennox, Marshall Pack, Arbie Feeds, and most recently Eaton Company. He loved hillbilly sales, animals, and talking about his military life. Surviving Richard are his children Rick (Jill) Snider of Marshalltown, Tim (Connie) Snider of Green Mountain, and Pam (Kip) Brown of Gladbrook; his grandchildren Tisha Heintz, Stephanie Sparrow, Dennis Snider, Heather Snider, and Joe Snider; his step-grandchildren Stephanie Taylor and Theil Brown; his great-grandchildren Alyssa Coop, Eleanor Sparrow, Lydia Heintz, Jacob Snider, and Jeremiah Snider; his brother Tom (Nadine) Snider; and his sisters Betty Eubanks and Jean Aman. In death he rejoins his wife Delores, his parents Elmer and Inga Snider, and his brothers Larry Snider and Don Snider.
