Richard Wolf

Richard L. Wolf, 81, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2019 with his loving family by his side under the care of the Iowa River Hospice at Bickford Cottage in Marshalltown.  Funeral services for Rich will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Rich and his family.  Richard Wolf was born on September 17, 1937 in State Center to Vernon and Mabel Billman Wolf. Rich was united in marriage to Ardis Armbrecht on September 6, 1955 at St John’s Lutheran Church in State Center. Rich had been employed with the Iowa Department of Transportation as an operator and later an assistant supervisor. He retired in December of 1999. After retirement, Rich worked with People Rides. He could often be found helping his son, Jim, on the farm. Rich also enjoyed mowing and keeping a meticulous lawn, as well as woodworking. Most importantly he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of his family. Rich was a “people person” and his demeanor was always positive.   Rich is survived by his wife, Ardy, whom he loved dearly and would have been celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary together. Children: Karen (David) Cary, David Wolf (Sandi) and Jim (Kim) Wolf. Grandchildren: John Wolf, Megan (Marc) Guthrie, Michael Cary, Darci (Chris) Buffington and James (Brhee) Wolf. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Gavin, Drew, Logan, Luke, Jayse, Ashton, Teigen and Oliver as well as his brother, Don (Jan) Wolf.  Rich is preceded in death by his daughter Diane Wolf, parents Vernon and Mabel and brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Wolf.
