Rick Dean Clausen, 67, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Ricks wishes were to be cremated and the family will be holding a private service. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home, 502 Plaza Heights Road, 50158, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Rick Dean Clausen was born on December 13, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa; he was the son of Dean and Darlene June (Foss) Clausen. Rick attended school in the area of his birth and also attended two years of college. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Rick was united in marriage to Mindy Clausen. They had resided in Phoenix, Arizona. Rick owned and operated Evergreen Construction for many years and later worked at W.M. Grace Construction. Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting, building furniture, spending time with family and friends, traveling, riding his Harley, reading, partying, and listening to AC/DC and Van Halen. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mindy Clausen of Phoenix, Arizona, daughters: Julie (Mark) Finch of Marshalltown, Iowa and Susan (Bret) Lucas of Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Finch and Will, Nathan and Pete Lucas. Siblings, Greg(Lynda) Clausen of Independence, Iowa and Deb Waters of Mason City, Iowa, nieces, Holly(Adam) Kaufmann, Lisa Latham, and nephew, Eric( Erin) Clausen.
