Rick Sr. Mull

Ricky Mull, Sr., 59, of Conrad, left this earthly life to join Heavens great fishing hole on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 11th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home while in the presence of his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the BCLUW High School gymnasium in Conrad- a place he loved and the kids loved him. He served as the school janitor and bus driver for 20 years. His family encourages you to dress casual, for that is the way Rick would like it. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Ricky Gene Mull on July 12th, 1957, in Marshalltown, he was the first reported birth in the hospital of a child born with a fishing pole. His parents were Jackie Dean and Pearl A. (Neilson) Mull. Rick graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1976. On December 5th, 1980, he married the love of his life, Deb Picard, who wasnt fond of fishing, but he encouraged her to do so! They made their home in Conrad where he was employed at the school. Rick was loved by all who knew him, but didnt have much time for joining groups because that would cut into fishing time! Rick loved to fish and before we forget to mention it, Rick loved to fish. Left to cherish his memory are Deb, his loving wife of 35 years, his son Ricky (Angie) Mull, Jr. of Marshalltown, grandchildren- Britney Thompson and Alyssa Thompson of Marshalltown; great-grandchildren Kaden Lane and Braxton Marshall; brother David (Sheryl) Mull of Steamboat Rock; his in-laws Ken and Gerri Picard of Marshalltown; as well as many friends, co-workers, nieces/nephews, family and the fish he never caught. In death, Rick rejoined his parents, his precious daughter Echo Marie Mull who passed in 1999 at age 16, brother John (1986), and brother Mike (2012).
