Rick Wiebensohn, 59, of Hudson, died suddenly on Sunday, October 14, in Waterloo.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. He will be laid to rest in the Maple Hill Cemetery north of Gladbrook with full military honors by the Gladbrook American Legion Ehrig-McTurk Post. Ph. 641-844-1234.Born on December 9, 1952, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Pete and Marlene (Storjohann) Wiebensohn. He graduated from the Gladbrook High Schools class of 1971 and soon entered in the United States Army where he served our country honorably. Upon his return, he attended UNI. In 1976, he began a career at Bearing Distributors. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Gladbrook and the Gladbrook American Legion. Rick met the love of his life, Becky Juchems of Conrad. The two were united in marriage forming a perfect partnership that began on November 26, 1977. Together, they were blessed with twin daughters. Rick enjoyed Iowa football, fishing, going on the pontoon, camping, woodworking, but most of all time with River, his granddaughter and family.Left to cherish his memory are Becky, the love of his life and wife of 34 years, his daughters Carrie (Ryan) Thompson of West Des Moines and their daughter River, Rene Wiebensohn of Los Angeles, his mother Marlene, brother Ken (Angie) of Gladbrook, father-in-law Ben Juchems of Conrad, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.In death, Rick rejoined his dad Pete, brothers Roland and Rodney and his mother-in-law Betty Juchems.
