Rickie Mason

Rickie Thomas Mason, 46, of Marshalltown died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Iowa River Hospice House. Per Ricks wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time. A memorial fund to benefit his son, Josh, has been established at Members First Credit Union in Marshalltown. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Rickie and his family, phone 641-844-1234. Rickie was born on August 19, 1963 in Marshalltown to parents Darryl and Janet (Morrison) Mason. He attended school in Marshalltown, and then joined the National Guard. Rickie had been employed at Sears Automotive. He worked many years for JoAnn Struebing in rental property maintenance. Rickie loved cooking out on the grill, collecting things, and cherished his son Josh. Left to celebrate Rickies life is his son Josh Mason, his brothers Dave (Kelly) Mason of Marshalltown and their children Jaymi Mason, James Mason, Jack Mason, Lacy Mason, and Lisa Lyon; Joel Mason (Stephanie Hickey) of Albion and his son Dylan, as well as many, many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In death, Rickie has rejoined his grandparents and his parents.
