Ricky Jon Rea

Ricky Rea, age 72, of Marshalltown, passed away Saturday, December 14th, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born on February 3rd, 1952, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, he was the son of Elmo and Myrtle Rea. The family moved to Marshalltown and he graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1971.

Ricky was united in marriage to Linda Christine Kuba, and to that union two sons were born- Christopher and Robert.

He was multi-talented in many workforce occupations from carpenter, trimmer at JBS and mechanic. His favorite was always mechanic. He could fix anything and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino.

Left to cherish his memory is his son Christopher of Marshalltown and his best friend since the late 1980’s- Floyd Beadle and his family of daughters Samantha, Shayla, and grandchildren Lyric, Maxely and Sullivan who referred to Ricky as “Papa Rick.”

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, six half siblings and son, Robert.
