Born on February 21st, 1966, in Marshalltown, Robb was the son of Vernon and Connie (Weller) Gage. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1984. At the age of 16, he began working alongside his father at Gage Auto Repair in Marshalltown. He later was employed at Swift’s in the late 1980’s until returning to Gage Auto Repair. On a night out with friends, a beautiful young lady tapped him on the shoulder at the Pyramid Lounge and asked him if he wanted to dance. The answer was “yes” and the rest is history. On September 16th, 1989, in Tama, he was united in marriage to Amy McNamee. They have called rural Gilman home nearly all of their married lives. Robb was well-loved by all who came into his life. He worked for the East Marshall School District since 2011 in the custodial department. Every student was an extension of his own family as were the kids that came along fishing and hunting or playing sports. He coached his children’s various sporting events and simply loved the outdoors- which is a trait he so appreciated his dad for instilling in him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Robb believed in a good work ethic for anyone- family, friends or acquaintance. Do it right the first time. He had his own rules- even though they may have softened when those rules applied to grandbabies! He and Amy made a great team- parenting and working together through life’s ups and downs. Family always came first for Robb. Left to cherish his memory are Amy, his loving wife of 32 years; children- Travis (Morgan Prouty) Gage (and daughter Berklee) of Eagle Grove, IA, Sierra (Jordan) Augspurger (and daughter Hayden as well as one on the way) of Garwin; parents Vernon and Connie Gage of Holiday Lake, sister Kristin Balvanz of Marshalltown and her son Cole, brother and sisters-in-law- Roseann (late Roger) Wiese of Toledo, Diane (Larry) Lemker of Marshalltown, Mary (Scott) Runyan of Marshalltown, and Jim McNamee of Melbourne as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death Robb rejoined his grandparents Clifford and Ruth Gage and Mahlon and Doris Weller; his father and mother-in-law Eldon and RosaLea McNamee and sister-in-law Marsha McNamee.
