Robert "Bob" H. Gray

Robert H. “Bob” Gray, 94, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name may be directed to Iowa River Hospice Home. Robert was born on November 24, 1927 to parents Robert and Rose Gray in Grinnell, Iowa. He attended prep school and received his high school diploma. Bob served his country and enlisted in the Unites States Army and served in the Korean War. He served his country and was later honorably discharged. On May 5, 1949, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life Dorothy. Together they made their home in Marshalltown where they raised their three children. Over the years, Bob worked as a police officer and later a parole officer but his true love was his part time work as a school bus driver which he did for 60 years before his final retirement. In his free time, Bob enjoyed spending time at home, spending time with friends, traveling, and enjoying life. He is survived by his children, David (Terry) Gray, Diane Hauser, and Dennis Gray; His grandchildren, Amy Halter, Stacy Gray, Erin Loney, Sean Sayre, Christopher Gray, Kate Wood, and Brian Gray. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Gray.
