Robert 'Bob' Clawson

Robert Bob Clawson, 90, formally of State Center and Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015, in the comfort of his daughters home, in Pasadena, Texas. Funeral services for Robert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Nuss officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Bob will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed in Roberts name to his family. After he received his education, he proudly and honorably served his country as a United States Navy/Marine Corps. Bob was part of the greatest generation and helped lead our country to victory in WWII. On May 10, 1952, Bob married the love of his life Delores Mitchell. The Central Iowa area was home to Bob and Delores until moving to Texas where they raised their family. They returned to the area and he retired from Fisher Controls after 29 years of dedicated employment. Bob and Delores loved to go dancing and spent many times together on the dance floor. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and watching his grandson play baseball in Rhodes. Bob is survived by his children: David Clawson of Wolcottville, Indiana; Mary Gutierrez of Dayton, Texas; Paul (Tess) Clawson of Rhodes, Iowa; Hope (Julio) Molina of Pasadena, Texas; Susan Fahlbush of Deer Park, Texas and James L. Clawson of Marshalltown, Iowa; his daughter-in-law, Cathy Clawson, of Marshalltown, Iowa; his son-in-law, Larry Dare, of Melbourne, Iowa; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores; his mother; one son, Doug Clawson and daughter, Kay Dare.
