Robert Philip DeWitt was born June 6, 1965 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was the son of Marvin and Christine (Gawlik) DeWitt. Rob grew up in many areas starting his younger years in Rochester, Minnesota. He later graduated from South Hamilton High School with the Class of 1983.
Rob was united in marriage to Melissa Benway. From their union, they had two children, Brent and Kristen. Rob provided for his family as a hired farm hand for over 30 years, for the Edler Brothers where he did lots of farm work. This included helping run a grain elevator and delivering feed in a straight truck. He and Melissa would later divorce but still remained very close friends.
In his free time, Rob enjoyed watching NASCAR and working on cars. He was mechanically inclined and always hard working. He adored being a father and grandpa also known as Pa, his oldest grandson Landyn gave him this title and it carried on. Rob believed "Grandpa" would age him and requested a cooler name. In his younger years, he would take the family on camping trips which created many fond memories.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his children, Brent DeWitt and Kristen (Brett) Rosedale; his grandchildren, Lexie, Lilie, Landyn, Lincoln, and Lane; his mother Christine DeWitt; his siblings, Randy (Stacey) DeWitt and Richard DeWitt; and nieces and nephews, Ashley DeWitt, Nick DeWitt, and Ashton DeWitt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin DeWitt; paternal and maternal grandparents; sister-in-law, Renee DeWitt; and the mother of his children, Melissa.
