Robert V. Franck

Robert V. Franck, age 90, of Marshalltown Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, died June 4, 2025 at Harmony of Marshalltown.

No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Robert will be laid to rest at Littleton Cemetery, in Littleton, IA. Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the care of Robert and his family. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Robert was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Iowa City, son of Carl E. and Pauline Strayer Franck. His parents divorced while young and later Pauline married Earl Roberts who helped raise Robert. Robert married Mary E. Sherman on June 22, 1958, in Gladbrook. They later divorced.

Robert proudly served in the US Navy between 1953-1957. He worked at Hurwich Furniture, Burbridge Turkey Farm, and was employed by John Deere for 31 years before retiring in 1989.

Robert enjoyed the great outdoors through hunting, fishing, gardening, and riding motorcycles. He cherished his time on nature drives with his daughter, their weekly tradition for 18 years.

He is survived by his son, Kevan (Mona) Franck of Farmington, MN; his three daughters: Kim (Lloyd) Luck of Marshalltown, Kristin Hovey of Farmington, MN., and Susie (Dan) Gleason of Oskaloosa; his eight grandchildren: Heather, Jay, Jessica, Mitchell, Matthew, Missy, Lauren and Kyle. Five great­ grandchildren. A half-sister, Barbara Porter.Preceded in death by: his parents and step-father; brother Kenneth Franck, and two step-brothers, Edward and John Roberts, and one step-sister, Marguerite Shreve.
