Robert Bob Hildreth, 69, of Gilman, died Sunday, February 25th, 2007, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2nd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the VFW Harry C. Harter Post # 839. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments following the burial at the hospitality room of the funeral home. There will be no visitation. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Robert and his family. Born on August 31, 1937, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Harold and Alice (Allinger) Hildreth. He received his education in the area of his birth and in California. On August 17, 1957, he was united in marriage to Darleen Dorothy Santos in Carson City, Nevada. He honorably served our country in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960 then continued in the Air Force Reserves for many years. Robert was independently employed as a Journeyman Carpenter (general contractor) during his working years. Robert attended his local Methodist church and enjoyed cross-stitching, working with computers, doing puzzles, watching movies, and most of all, spending time with his family. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 49 years, Darleen, children: Robert (Maggie) Hildreth, Jr. of South Dakota, Kathrine (Jeff) Harrison of Washington, Patricia Lawrence of Marshalltown, Elizabeth (Martin) Hildreth of Cedar Rapids, Michael (Mary) Hildreth of Albion, Tim Hildreth of Kansas City, Jim (Caroline) Hildreth of Gilman and Steve (Tami) Hildreth of Kansas City, grandchildren: Joshua, John, Brian, Krissy, Jason, Justin, Margaret, Melissa, Moriah, Christopher, Nicholas, Tim Jr., Zayleigh, Cody, Felicia, Michael and Bailey, great-grandchildren Necie, Dalton, Blake, Jaymee Jo, LeAnn and Matthew, one sister, Bev (Jesse) Hodge of Troy, Montana. In death he has rejoined his parents and brother, Jerry Hildreth.
