Robert J. Davis 71, of Zearing, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames surrounded by his family.The family will be holding Memorial services at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2011 in McCallsburg, Iowa at the Bethany Lutheran Church.Robert James Davis was born on January 17, 1940 in La Verne Minnesota; he was the son of Louis J. and Eva (Martin) Davis. Bob attended school in Beaver Creek, Minnesota graduating with the class of 1957. He served our Country honorably in the United States Army for 30 years, including a tour of duty as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Following active duty Bob continued as a pilot both privately and corporately as a test pilot for Beach Craft. In his retirement Bob enjoyed working at Inovative Ag Services. Throughout his life Bob enjoyed playing and listening to Jazz and Blues music, studying politics; and caring for his dogs. Bob had been a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg.Left to cherish his memory is his wife Cathy, his children: Krista Schiffer and Casey Davis of Ohio and his grandchildren, Jaden, Jaxen, Griffin and Rennon, Cathys sons Justin (Regina) Weig and Nathan (Tami) Weig and their children Andrew, Joshua, Payton and Braden, Bobs siblings; Bette (Cleve) Tucker of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bryce Davis of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and David Davis of Ocala, Florida and several nieces and nephews.Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Eva and his brother; Richard.Memorials may be directed to the family.
