Robert Dixon Johnson, 97, of Marshalltown, passed away on May 16, 2016 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Per Bobs request, there are currently no services scheduled. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bob and his family. Robert Johnson was born on July 9, 1918 in Atwater, Minnesota to Harris and Lulu Leslie Johnson. Bob was united in marriage to Norma Jean Tubbs on August 21, 1964 in Lake City, Iowa. Bob retired from Fisher Control in 1981. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and especially growing tomato plants. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma Jean. Daughters: Carol (Jim) Schmirler and Kathy Morgan both of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Grandchildren: Eric (Julie) Schmirler of Hermosa Beach, California, Ryan (Tammy) Schmirler of Madison, Wisconsin and Kristen (Matt) Mabie of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, brother in law Duane (Carol) Tubbs of La Mesa, California and sister in law Phyllis Griffin of El Cajon, California. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Harris and Lulu. Siblings: Lucille (Evan) McCollum and Roger (Marion) Johnson, son in law Arthur Morgan, brother in law John Griffin and an infant grandson.
