Robert Bob G. Jordebrek, 72, of Garwin, Iowa passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the comfort of his own home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Memorial services for Bob will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Garwin Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Keefer officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Garwin Methodist Church where Bobs family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bob and his family. Robert Glenn Jordebrek was born on April 4, 1944 in Marshalltown, Iowa; the son of Glenn and Grace (Rokes) Jordebrek. He was raised and educated in Montour, Iowa. Graduating from South Tama High School in 1962. Following high school, Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1962-1966. On September 10, 1966, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jane Ellen Harmsen, at the Methodist Church in Garwin, Iowa. From this union two children were born, Melissa and Jeff. Bob was a hardworking man dedicating his professional career with Fisher Controls where he worked as a machinist. He was a proud member of the Methodist Church, Gladbrook American Legion and American Paint Horse Association. Bob had a passion for horses and spending time with his family. Left to cherish Bobs memory is his wife, Jane Harmsen Jordebrek; children, Melissa (Brian) Mullins of Battle Creek, IA and Jeff Jordebrek of Garwin, IA; grandchildren: Anna Mullins-Wirtz, Emma Mullins-Nepper, and Garrett Jordebrek; great-grandchild, Gideon Robert Wirtz; siblings: Barbara (Leonard) McCune of Toledo, IA, Pat (Dave) Muhlena of Union, IA, and Ed (Janet) Jordebrek of Clemons, IA. He also is survived by his four legged friend, Peaches and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Grace Jordebrek and in-laws, Clarence and Elnora Harmsen.
